It's been a long time since I passed by Saga's site, so I thought I'd say hello and see who was still around.

I haven't played MMOs for the past 4-5 years, although I'm currently obsessing over Minecraft.  Part of me wishes there was a Saga server floating around, but I don't know enough of the technical end to make it happen.  Anyone else playing it?

I'm still working in Nebraska and still don't understand why people care about the Huskers.  I bought a house a few years ago right in the middle of the mortgage crisis, but prices never went up here and thus haven't really gone down.  Raking leaves stinks, but it's nice and windy and my neighbors haven't showed up with pitchforks yet.

I was diagnosed with Leukemia¹ in July, so I'm in the middle of treatment right now.  Maybe having so much "idle" time has gotten me thinking about the past and old friends.  I'm not trolling for pity². but it seemed best to let people know than pretend I haven't spent a soul-sucking number of days in the hospital.  I have no plans for dying at this point, as I'm well-insured, relatively young, and damned stubborn.

I'm blogging about media, including games, over at Digital Monkey Shines.  Sometimes it's about my passion for movies³; sometimes it's about pen and paper RPGs⁴.  It's whatever I'm thinking about at the time.

I've had a small amount of publishing luck, having had three horror flash fiction stories run by Necrotic Tissue in the past couple of years⁵. 

I'll stop by again soon to look at responses, but if you want to be able to keep up with me the best thing would be to use Facebook⁶.

1 - Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Type M5 with a genetic mutation in chromosome 23 transposing genes 9 and 11, if you must know details.  It sucks, but hey...

3 - I've seen more movies than you.  Ever seen Check and Double Check?  I have.  I win!
4 - Just completed my hard-cover manual set of 1st Edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons.  Talk about regression...
5 - My story "Just Like That Book" can be viewed for free in issue #7 on the website.  Yes, it's supposed to be that short.  The others require purchases of the print version.  It's not a bad mag, but if you're not a horror fan it's going to be hard to justify for my little stories.
6 - The Social Network is a good film, but totally overrated.  David Fincher will never be better than above average, IMO.  Yes, I'm still mad about Benjamin Button.  My Facebook user name is "arsdale".

I actually got to read your...I think it was the first story in Necrotic way back. I will go check out the new one. I still think your bicycle is super cool.    :-)

As for Check and Double Check....I hadn't even really heard of it!
