In-Game naming?

So, in SWTOR, at this time it doesn't seem possible to have a First and Last name. I'm curious what people's thoughts are about how they plan to name their characters.

Do i do.. Elandri, Elandri'eledar, Eledar?

In other games, it seemed important to have your first name as your name, to be used by your friends and guildmates easier. But with TOR I wonder if that breaks the suspension of disbelief more.


One thing to find out would be how many character spaces are allowed for names, because I have no idea. :P

In a temple roleplay setting, would a Jedi master refer to his Padawan Billy Bronson as Padawan Billy or Padawan Bronson?

I am mulling these things over as I try to pull my character ideas together. :)

Do we have reason to believe that non-alpha characters (like _ or ') will be permitted?  They often aren't, due to database security issues (since non-alpha characters can be used by those in the know to crack the system).

I obviously am a newb to MMOs, but I know that plenty of sites allow A-Za-z and underscore.  Either way, I personally don't mind if it's Vifi_Sunfell, Vifi Sunfell or VifiSunfell.

Well I think I'm going to be fine with what ever name I end up with in game. But I also want to point out that Surnames are still a possibility. At PAX(I think it was pax anyway) they said they would adress surnames closer to launch. So it maybe something that will be in game at some point.

Gith

You can use ' and - in your names. I am not sure about _ though. Hence my variations of names Val-Gith, Val'Gith, and just Gith. Any name with Gith in it you can be pretty sure is one of the various "outfits" of my character. Although, I am pretty sure it auto-capitalizes the first letter and nothing else, so if you try to do ValGith or VALGITH it will come out Valgith.

Also, there are 8 spots available per account for characters. I am sure I read that somewhere >.>
