Dad,

I know I haven't been keeping up with writing you for a while. It's been a madhouse here. It was nice seeing you and Monty when I came back home a while back. Sorry I couldn't spend more time with you. I had a lot of jobs to do. It's crazy you know? All my life you've taught me how to avoid all of the street gangs, and here I end up running right into the Red Light district to face off against some of the worst of them. I thought I could escape that "duty to the Republic" bit by avoiding the army recruiters, but I was wrong.

I've sure killed enough people to be a soldier of late. Now, I've always run across "it's me or it's you" situations. It's part of the job. But I never had someone tell me to go looking for people with the intent to kill them before. I know what I did stopped a lot of innocent people from getting hurt, but I still get a sick sort of twisted up feeling inside when I think of it.

The other day I finally had that showdown with Skavak, the kriffer who stole the Wildcat. I ended up having to take him out. I know some who would have jumped at the chance for revenge, but somehow it didn't feel half as good as they make it seem.

I don't think I could have gotten through it without Cy. You remember Cyrian, he's one of the Jedi who helped us face off with Soryn. I ran into him at the Alderaan spaceport. He said Ashla had led him there to help me. Now, I've never put much stock in the Jedi "will of the Force" stuff. I always figured even if there was some mystical Force binding the universe together, it probably wouldn't mean here nor there to out day to day life and that the Jedi were mostly a bunch of secluded delusional quacks. I'm not so sure any more. I've met so many good people lately who wrap their entire lives around this mystical unseen energy.

Anyway, enough philosophy for now. I have to go meet another customer. Bowdaar sends his love. It's good to have him back on board.
