Greetings all,

I would like to pre-introduce our newest recruit to the rest of the guild. Talon is from Australia and is looking forward to gaming and writing with us here at Saga. I will let Talon do the official introduction part, but let's all give him a hearty Saga welcome.

Welcome to Saga guild!

Please be sure to read the posts stickied at the top of this forum and be sure you agree with the rules and charter. This guild has a history, as you will see. It is, well, a Saga.

Saga is also part of a multi-game guild formed when a few wandered off to try other games. Sister guilds have formed, and we all come here to check on each other. This multi-game guild is currently called SagaFamily. We are indeed a family.

To become part of that, please take the time to fill out the attached roster card and post it to this message. This procedure is for the others here who will not see you in GW2 so they can get to know you. You do not have to fill the roster card out to be part of Saga in-game. You can do it now or in the future. You can fill one out even if you do not wish to join the larger family. There is no pressure, and no rush. Take your time and look around.

As a Recruit, you should now have access to the private game related forums, such as questing and crafting disciplines.

Firstly, my thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome. And, Mixxi, I'm encouraged by past down under members not being a problem. Time zone sync-up worries me a little but I'm sure we can make it work.

I am not entirely certain what to say here. I work in I.T. and enjoy reading fantasy novels. As you already know, I am Australian and live in the state of Queensland. (GMT+10)

My character name may vary since someone may pinch it prior to launch. Talon is a Sylvari and a mesmer. He is curious and thoughtful but also practical. Owing to his practicality, he can be a bit blunt as he doesn't like messing about. I'd classify his alignment as neutral. Perhaps leaning a little to chaotic as he is a mesmer. He can be frustrated by people not acting when they need to. Politicians, in particular, irritate him.

Talon has an illusion that makes him appear human (at least for the beta). Despite his pragmatism, he enjoys trickery and deceit but is not evil. His worst trait would be greed, whether it be knowledge and experiences or coin. Anything more than that, you'll just have to get to know him.

Do you have alternate characters on the same server?   

I plan to have a few characters of differing races and professions but the mesmer, Talon, will be my primary character and the one I look forward to seeing grow.

How did you hear of us?

The Guild Wars 2 Guru Guild Recruitment thread had a post. It linked to the saga family site, so here I am.

Is there anyone you have gotten to know from our family, IC or OOC?

Not yet, which I regret. However, despite not knowing me everyone has been very friendly so I plan to change that very soon.

What Roleplay games have you participated in?

I shall reduce the list to those involving roleplay with other people; Ultima Online, Dungeons and Dragons (in person and over IRC), Neverwinter Nights and Guild Wars 1.

What are you looking for as a member of our guild?

Ultimately, friends. The fact that this guild has a group of adults that play for enjoyment and also roleplay together in order to get another level of enjoyment out of the game is a significant bonus.

Absolutely.

*narrows eyes* 'Why?' ... *shrug* 'Fine, I'll put aside the suspicion for now. Let's see, what won't bore you to tears? Hmm.' *looks around the room and then lowers his illusion, his face shimmering for a moment before flaking to the floor, revealing the face of a thin, Sylvari male*

'I know i look about 27 but I awoke from the pale tree barely months ago. Of course, I've been ravenous to explore since and gotten into a bit of trouble already.'

*looks you over* 'But I don't think I trust you enough to give you the details. Let's just say I owe a couple of favours in the Undermarket.'

What hobbies and quests do you presently have?

'My, you are inquisitive, aren't you. I like that. I am too, you can never learn too much.'
*mumbles* 'Though you can overhear a few things you shouldn't and get into strife.' *Pauses and looks around the room, again* 'There are few things I have on my to-do list, per the aforementioned favours owed to associates of mine. Other than that I'm generously giving my time to help out a little bit out at the watch posts, in exchange for some silver coins of course.'

*stretches and picks at a loose thread on his glove* 'I've also taken a shine to tailoring. Human materials are very strange but they have such a delightful array of colours.'

Where do you see yourself in the future?

*frowns* 'That's an odd question.' *pauses and taps his cheek for a moment* 'Free of favours is definitely my short-term plan. If I can find someone to travel with, probably more exploring. During my time since awakening, I've visited most the other races' settlements but there's always more exploring to be done and more trouble to find and fix for a donation or two.'
