found this while browsing the TOR forums... couldn't help but laugh while reading :)

Same author and different topic: grammar

Great points and a few I hadn't really though about. But then, I trust developers to know what they're doing.
My favourite part of the first article:

Quote"They shouldn't release the game until it's done!"

Yes they bloody well should! Be very, very careful what you wish for. Actually, when that sort of thing is applicable such as in single-player and non-evolving games (Skryim) I agree. Buggy to the point of unplayable is unforgivable.

As for grammar, I am pleased they wrote this. I'm a bit of an English/Grammar "nazi" as much as I loathe the term. So I cringe almost constantly in day-to-day life let alone in games and on forums. I am pleased to say that a lot of the time that's not been the case with the GW2 community, however.

QuoteBy the way, you were probably taught "I before E except after C"

Schools in Britain are actually not teaching that rule any more because - interesting fact - there are actually more words that are the exception to that rule than those that follow it so it just ended up getting in the way.

And I learned a new word, mondegreen.

QuoteThe first rule, though, is this: An apostrophe is not used to warn the reader that an "S" is coming.

This actually made me laugh aloud so my housemate gave me an odd look.

QuoteIts vs It's

A lot of people have trouble with this. I am often informing my friends of this fact and they all go "Ohhhh". I haven't followed up to see whether it sank in.
