Hi all.

Any fans of The Discworld may be interested to know, if you don't already, that a few things have been announced lately:

1. Terry has entrusted his world to his daughter who will continue to write for the series after his death or if he becomes otherwise unable to write in the future.

2. His daughter, Rihanna, is currently working as a writer on a new BBC Discworld-based series called "The Watch". I am excited by this.

Article.

I knew about the series but Im happy to learn that his legacy will live on through his daughter.

A truly great writer who made me appreciate how accepting we can be.

I wonder who will play Vimes hmmmm

I can't wait.  I've been sucked in by 2 characters in particular, Rincewind and Tea Time.  One lives on, the other.. awww.  I'm still reading the books hard, got about 9 down already.

When I first started, Rincewind was my favorite but I grew to love the others alot as well. The Watch , the Witches and Deaths Grand daughter are some of my favorite characters out of everything Ive read.

I'm just starting The Watch series now after finishing Going Postal, which was very entertaining!   Also, I think The Hogfather is my new favorite "Christmas" movie. If you have Netflix you can stream it, true story.

It is good to know the Discworld will endure, although I'm really sad about Terry's illness and the inevitable conclusion.

Carrot's great! A true dwarf if there ever was one. Well, sort of. Cherry is my absolute favorite Discworld dwarf, though.

I'm a hardcore Vimes fan. No one else even comes close. Except maybe Errol.

And the thing that made me Pratchett's slave for life was the name "Imp Y Celyn" in Soul Music (it's Welsh for holly bud--get it? Buddy Holly?) I think I scared my dog when I reacted after reading that. I don't think the translation is ever explained in the book. It's just one of those weird esoteric things Pratchett plays with so well--because, of course, the Welsh are famous for singing and... oh never mind.

I'm not a big fan of the TV versions of the books. The pacing just seems slow to me. A series, though...that could be quite interesting.
