((These journals continue on from here: pub64.ezboard.com/fournew...D=22.topic and constitute a new journey))

The Erudin Palace
Indeterminate Weather

I begin this new journal in the secret sigils and hidden inks of the Order of Crimson Hands as a record of my new duties and travels. As I had vowed, in what seems a lifetime ago, I have returned home to the Tower, in triumph. My studies and training in the rudiments are complete – I am a Wizard. No longer a mere Apprentice, or even potent Journeyman, I now stand amongst the ranks of the Order. Although I do not wish to succumb to foolish self-congratulations, it is still a feat to be proud of.

Of course, the terminus of one road invariably leads to the beginning of a longer, steeper, and more treacherous one in the reflection of the Burning Prince's command to self-mastery and perfection. I am a Wizard of the First – The elements, the Aether, Forces, and Knowledge are at my fingertips – yet ahead of me still the Mysteries of the Planes, and the ranks of the Channelers, Evokers, and Sorcerers remain to be pondered and comprehended. A long road, but I am fit for the journey.

And, dare I forget, I have simultaneously embarked upon a perhaps more dangerous and darkened path than those of the Order with my ascension – Politics! Too long did I suffer as a pawn during my naïve youth, now I shall enter the fray on equal footing. It is only natural that men of our intellect, culture and power have such a labyrinthine system – It is a lesson we learned from the Civil War: the Rule of the Sword may be appropriate for some of the lesser species, but in a society where individuals wield the destructive power to destroy whole cities, Reason, and its less savory brother, Cunning, must rule the day. I worry that some of the comrades I have made in my journeys cannot fathom this principle and may be burned by it.

So I have embarked upon this new path as well, having managed to maneuver myself into an appointment as an Officer of the High Council – no more shall I be the disposable 'errand boy.' I still smile as I recall the look of bewilderment on that pompous Skyphire's face as he was forced to render me my appointment – such a thing is almost unheard of for a Wizard of the First, Page perhaps, but Officer? Naturally, he was filled with both curiosity and envy, but I indulged him neither. I owe him neither explanations nor loyalty after his part in my virtual exile. Of course, it was those experiences that allowed me to force myself into the political arena, but that is no business of his...

Few know the details of the 'mission' I was sent on, and fewer still know the ramifications of it. Few know how I was betrayed and left for dead. Few know of the complicity of certain Councilors. Few know of the perniciousness and depth of the 'Unification' movement and of the treachery of the Order of the Kraken, a veritable cancer within the Deepwater Knights....

And of course, those precious 'few' want to keep it that way. A word here, a word there, an indication of silence, and it was those who tried to oust me and assassinate me that have paved the way for my entry into the political arena. Let no one say the Burning Prince has no sense of humor!

On the morrow a new Session of the Council meets, I shall retire to plan for what lies ahead.

The Plane of Sky
Visibility: Infinite

It has been far too long since I updated my journals... But at the same time there has been little of worth to note. I have spent the majority of my time either in the Library, the laboratories of the Tower, or in the Session Chambers of the Palace. Whily my knowledge, technique, and political savvy have all benefited, I have had few advancements or breakthroughs since piercing the barriers between Planes.

I have witnessed the horrors of Innoruuk's corrupted Plane of Hatred, and the wonders of Veeshan's observation point high above Norrath in the Sky. I find this a peaceful place to meditate and get away from Odus for awhile - as it is a place that only a handful of Wizards have the skill and power to reach.

I have from time to time, gazed down upon my old starspun comrades and their new friends and allies, and am pleased that most of them seem to have gone on to accomplish great feats, and even now battle for thei ideals and homelands against implaccable foes.

Perhaps it is time to return to the fight... But for what? No banner compels me currently, no quest begs for discovery... Perhaps I shall sojourn to the Temple of Solusek Ro, to seek the guidance of the Seekers once more. Perhaps the Burning Prince can point me back on the path of power.
