Any ideas on class/paths for release now?

Im pretty much decided on engineer / scientist - I really enjoyed esper and settler but it was more an alt thing for me. While I loved being able to build buff stations and fix towns to make them look pretty , it really played on my must fix everything tendencies . I may still go settler but Im definitely going engineer - I like tanking and I like pets.
I know other folks didnt quite click with engineers but would love to hear their thoughts!

I only got to play Spellslinger but I like it. I also only played a settler, which I think is really overpowered VS the other paths. I had 10 slot bags REALLY early in the game. Way better than what I could buy from normal vendors or find in the world.

I lost my beta access because I didn't make it to level 32. So I cannot try anything new out. I think Engineer could be interesting and I would have liked to try a melee class just to see the difference.

What did people think of PvP? Was there a huge difference between melee VS ranged? Was it hard for the ranged people to make distance from the melee?

I think it was the other way for ranged vs melee - melee had to be very careful in timing to hit and land hits and snares.

Also beta ends for pretty much everyone this week with weekends planned - you didn't lose much to be honest.

Stalker was fun - if I don't go engineer scientist , ill be going stalker explorer. It suffered from melee hit box issues in that sometimes if you didn't line it up properly, you could whiff attacks in your telegraphs especially if the target was moving or they were just at the edge of the telegraph. I think they addressed that in the last patch this weekend.

I did realise though that I want to tank more than heal especially because of how active tanking is - healing is always fairly active but tanking seemed to be very on the balls of the feet as well which is exciting.

That being said, a Medic/Settler or Spellslinger/Settler will likely be my main.

Well, good to hear we will have a few medics and a few tanks sprinkled amongst the DPS.

Im happy to see a cross section of paths - one of wildstars strengths is cross path content at later levels - such as an explorer leading folks to a secret puzzle jump section and at the end there is a soldier holdout mission that on completion lets scientists access a secret door to open etc etc

Even in the early levels, there were bosses in certain zones ( tough 5 man stuff ) that could only be accessed by an explorer opening the way - and part of their horde of goodies was tons and tons of settler resources to boot ( and a delicious datachron ).

Temus will, I believe, go DPS/settler. Tys is planning tank/?. Zem....? Not sure. They will also be very up for PvP, as usual.

I like Esper but the combat is a bit too static so I'm not sure.
Spellslinger was a lot of fun.

While I enjoy the lore bonuses of a scientist, I had a bit more fun in the explorer path with my 'slinger.

So my original intent remains just unsure which will be main.

This morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I still had WildStar beta access. I haven't played my top two choices since a weekend stress test a few months back, so I decided to start a Medic to see if that was still likely to be my top choice.

It is. I like pretty much everything about Medic. I like the <wub-wub-wub> ability sound effects. I like the medium armor. I like the "medium, but wide" AE templates. I like the mobility. I like the how the resources start full with every fight, so I can lead with a couple finishers before having to use builders again. I like that the innate essentially gives me several seconds of free finishers. It's just basically all good.

So I'll be playing a male, human Medic/Settler as a main.

I'm still deciding between stalker and engineer or even warrior . Scientist stalker is what really is bothering me because you can stealth but your scanbot can't . And I've decided no to explorer at the moment .

What to do what to do . Loved esper but can't tank which is blah . Wondering what way to go to help round out the guild .

Shall ponder more although it's greT that every class can heal or tank so eventually folks can do more if they wish to ( including dps )
