Greetings from the Order of the Silver Dragons.

Well met.

I am Balerathon, co-leader of a group of Exiles known as the Silver Dragons ((in game guild name)), and part of a larger organization known as the Order of the Silver Dragons (OSD). I recently spoke with Rumze about expanding our respective circle of friends and allies to include each other. I am happy to be able to post this message in warm friendship, and we certainly look forward to future endeavors together with the Saga Family.

A bit about myself, OSD and the WildStar division, if you'll indulge me!

I'm a long time gamer and MMOer (probably about 16 years or so) and have probably played most MMOs out there (mainstream and not - Anyone ever play GTH? :) ). I joined OSD back in June of last year as part of the NWO chapter, and have since played several games as part of the family. Currently, I'm Co-Lead along with Xanz, who I'm sure will stop by here later to say hello, of the WildStar division within OSD. I've been following WildStar for over a year (in fact, ever since they posted the very first teaser about Housing - The one with Phienas T. Rotostar!) and have been in Beta since Winter Beta 1 Woot!

So who are these mysterious OSD fellows? I'm glad you asked!

We're a multi platform gaming community that was established in 2006 in DDO. We've since grown and spread to several other games currently including DDO, GW2, FFXIV, TSW, NWN, ToR and have an ESO division as well as a WildStar division. Several of us also play Landmark right now :)

It's worth mentioning that the amount of games we're active in is not indicative of an overly inflated zerg guild. On average I'd say we have somewhere between 10-20 people in each game (and at least several of them are probably overlapping players). FFXIV and ESO are somewhat different beasts in which we're apparently right up there in terms of raiding guilds and numbers in FFXIV, and gearing up to a very healthy population in ESO. That's not to say that we try and stay big or small, just how it is :)

We're certainly a laid-back casual gaming guild that doesn't have many demands of our players other than what you would expect. Be nice to others, respect, integrity, friendship, communication... that sort of thing. We offer the gamut of MMO content and support everything from PvP to Raiding without claiming to be "hardcore". Some of our members like to Raid... we support it. Some like to RP, we support it, some like to craft/dungeon/explore whatever. We support it!

Given that Saga is an RP guild, I'm sure you're all wondering... as far as an IC guild backstory, I'd say we're still developing it, and more will emerge as we come closer to launch, but I will preface it and say that we are not a primarily RP guild. Several of us (myself included) are into RP and intend to do so when appropriate in WildStar, but we are not a full RP guild. Most members will occasionally dabble in RP when the situation arises and mostly will stay OOC.

Mostly, we're trying to create a sense of community and family among our members, and friends. We've teamed up with other guilds in the past and currently have strong relations with Bad Wolves in FFXIV, as well as a good relationship with The Guardians in other games.

Personally, I find that by forging healthy alliances between like minded guilds, everyone wins. The Guilds can rely on each other for things each cannot provide, we can team up to take down big objectives while still retaining our distinct identities, and can help each other when needed. The way I see it, our two guilds can compliment each other nicely, and provide avenues for each other's members that might otherwise fall to PUGs (*shudder*). As our alliance expands, both between our two guilds, and by incorporating other like minded guilds, we can form a solid group of friends and that can only increase the awesomeness that will be WildStar!

So if you've made it down to here, or just scanned, I'd like to wrap up and say that we are all very excited to have this opportunity with Saga, and look forward to meeting you all in-game at launch!

Hello all, this is Xanz from OSD. I'm happy to make all of your acquaintances. Like Bale said, we're a very down to earth kind of community and we love having alliances with other guilds/communities. We do everything when it comes to gaming and we don't judge on playstyles. Our number one rule is to have fun. Period.

I'm not really a long winded guy, so that's all I will say.

Except that you guys have some really awesome smilies... :exXO:

Welcome!

Most people around here just call me Gith on our Mumble and the boards. I am one of the officers for the Wildstar chapter of Saga.

Rumze and I were talking about this and how useful the chat circles can be in Wildstar for exactly what you were saying. None of us want to be part of a big zerg guild that has hundreds of people available for any content we want to try. But, if we can get a few guilds into a common chat circle, we can all try to fill out our groups when need be.

I for one am very interested in PvP and want to get people together for a War Plot! Who doesn't want to make their own death fortress and take it into battle against our evil oppressors!?!?

I think we have a rough idea for our guild back story if I am not mistaken? We were all on the same ship, named Saga, that came to the surface of Nexus from the exile fleet? So we all don't have to know each other personally right away but have some sort of connection. Or maybe that story have evolved more? We will figure it out by launch I am sure.


So welcome welcome. I am happy to hear we already have a few like-minded guilds lined up to get the common chat circle going at launch!

Welcome to our forums ! Im very glad you could make it over.

I have to admit I chuckled when reading your histories and backgrounds - it is very much something we strive for and hopefully have fostered among our community.

Im a firm believer in play to have fun as well.

Down to earth , friendly , warm and welcoming. Those could be buzzwords from Saga's train of thought as well. Open minded, willing to lend a hand, zany to name a few more.

But there are even more parallels haha.

I joined Saga over 2 years ago now, and have been a happy active part of this guild , which has a rich history through several games. I am currently the guild leader for our wildstar chapter and our gaming family spans several games with members being active in various games at some points . We also tend to be on the smaller side , with about 10 people or more active at a given point so we happily look to make alliances and friendships with folks in like minded guilds as well.
But as they say , birds of a feather flock together and all that jazz.

I wouldn't worry too much about rp compatibility. Saga is very much a do your own thing and rp your way guild - some of us are forum rpers, some are spatial , while some are happy to do pick up rp while others develop long story lines. We have a common theme to explain how we have met , but the guild saga itself tends to be an out of character construct. There is no hierarchy IC as it were.

We are really content to just have fun and help others have fun as well.

Hullo!

I'd love to see Saga active in a multi-guild alliance in Wildstar. Those of us who were around in the EQ days know how amazing it was to be one of the guilds in The Fellowship. Being able to tackle the highest, toughest content with friends from other guilds was the best!

So, well met, Silver Dragons. I'm Mixxi, and I was in Saga at the beginning over 10 years ago. I'm looking forward to meeting up with you on Nexus.

(Just an aside, as far as IC backstory for Saga in Wildstar, not all of our characters have a history together on a ship pre-Nexus--but I believe many folks are associated in that way.)
