No Alarming Needed -- Re: Blogs

Do not be alarmed by the Blogs "disappearing".  Or, be alarmed if you wish, though its not necessary.  And any excited ALL-CAPS OMG THE WORLD IS SHATTERING meesages that I get are prolly going to get routed to /dev/null 

I'm in the last stages of getting the "new blogs" ready for the new format.  All blog entries will be retained and transferred over ... as well as those entries that you ~thought~ maybe had disappeared from oh-so-long ago.  Some entries, though, that were just hotlinked quiz results may not have made it.  Still trying to get those ported out of the db.

Reasons for this change are mainly of a backend sort.  The Blog Module we are using currently is cumbersome and doesn't play nicely with other mods/improvements , and whilst its done its job and was all I had to work with at the time ... it's outlived its usefullness ... besides not being updated by its author.

The new format is a modded forum format.  Basically, each user has their own board that they and only they (other than admins) are masters/mistresses of.  To save space and prevent clutter, though, I've not automagically made space for ~everyone~ ahead of time.  Only those who have already created bloggage. 

If you do not currently have a blog space, send me a PM and say GIMMEE MY BLOG K THX!  or something along those lines. I'll write up a procedure at some point to have placed into the faq section for new peoples to read. 

Please make sure to send the PM to my Imeriel account.  I log into this acount only for admin-y stuff and rarely if ever notice PM's on it.

The style / theme on the Blogs space is pretty much fixed / standard for right now.  If everyone agrees its absolutely horrid, work on getting something else to work.  Future improvements involve letting the user choose their own style for their section.  The permission set used is that of the Forum / Site.  Veteran status and above are the only ones who will be able to see the new blogs, and the only ones who can create.
