Alanni stood, stretching her back, a bit sore from labor that did not involve swinging a sword.  As usual, her untidy hair hung over her eyes, stuck to her forehead by sweat.  She impatiently wiped the offending strands out of the way with the back of her hand, making dirty streaks above her eyes.  She looked over the work she had accomplished with a certain satisfaction.  The rooms of the guildhouse were neat and tidy and, though empty now, they retained the warmth of laughter and good friends.  She made sure that it would be there, ready to welcome old and maybe new friends if there was a call to reopen it's doors in the future or to embrace a returning family member, if one should happen to need a place to stay for brief visit in Telon.

Thankfully, Alanni changed out of the unaccustomed clothing and back into her armor.  Her cape, fastened by a shining brooch, lay on her bed.  Alanni unclasped the brooch, bearing the insignia of the Guildleader of Saga and held it against her chest, her eyes closed a minute to fight back the sudden spring of tears.  She loved this house, and all that it stood for and all those that had inhabited it.  With great reverence Alanni kissed the brooch and laid it on the stand by her bed.  Although she was ready to move on to new friends and a new house, she knew that she would always treasure her time leading Saga.  After a moment, Alanni draped her cloak around her shoulders, taking a new badge out of her pack to clasp it closed.  This badge, equally shiny though, at this point bereft of memories, bore the insignia of the guild, Strength and Honour.

Alanni hoped that she would live up both to the standards she had been taught while in Saga and those of her new guild.  She hoped that many of her friends would come with her, though she realized that other paths had called some away and may well call others in the future.  She hoped that she had left those that had gone with good memories of fun and happy times.  Memories she herself would always be thankful to have.  With a sigh she took a last look around before gently pulling the door closed, though never locked.

((Thank you all, for allowing me the honor of leading you.  I have cherished my time with you and hope to continue to build good memories for the future.))

Lyrima

#1
Lyrima flings open the doors of the guild house with the usual secret glee.  Her lips curve happily as the resounding crash satisfies her need for a huge entrance.  The long legged ranger glances around, her smile turning to a faint frown as she notices the silence...the...lack of ...literally...

Stopping short, Lyrima slowly turns a full circle, her hand resting easily on her dagger.  Where was everyone?  She knew the place had become increasingly empty, but usually Lanni or Jez were around.  God knows, the Princess would be sleeping at this hour, but...

Green eyes fall on Lanni's bedroom door.  It was closed.  Alanni's door was never closed.  Sneaking up with ranger grace and silence, Lyrima eases open the door.  Empty.  But what is that? A coin? Lyrima's eyes light up.  Ever short on payment for the Tender, she pounces on the shining coin on the bedstand.  Surelly Alanni wouldn't miss one coin? She'd plenty!

Alas, it wasn't a coin afterall.  Alanni's leadership insignia lay in Lyrima's calloused hand.  Realization brings a squeak of springs, as the Ranger drops to a seat on the bed.  She was really gone.  Saga was closed.

Saga was sleeping. Yah, sleeping. Restin' sorta.  In hibernation until ... until it was time to wake up, yah.

Lyrima turns the shining brooch over and over in her hands, her thoughts far away.  Sighing, she carefully returns the shining 'coin' to its resting spot.  Alanni might need to get it back, one day.  And she would need to know where to go.  Lyrima stands, staring another several moments at the brooch, her black brows creased.

Strength and Hope?

Support and Honour?

White teeth bite lips. No, no! What was it?

S and H. Esssssssss and Aich.

Growling under her breath, the Ranger stomps out, howling for Cedar.  Surely HE will know.  He always knows.

Just so's Cedar doesn't tell the Garrison Commander.  Just the thought of him makes the Ranger tug uselessly at the wrinkles in her tunic.

((thank you for leading us through thick and thin, fury and joy.  And for having the wisdom to bring Saga into hibernation.  *hugs tightly* No one could have done more or succeeded better.))
