Hello Saga!

I was perusing the AoC Wiccanna server forums when I came across your guild's name.  My jaw dropped immediately when I first visited your website.  I looked to the right and saw a portrait of Fayd from EQ1.  On the next page was a portrait of Kuladen.  Even now, I'm staring at the protrait of Mixxi Bixiebane!  I know all of these characters, and interacted with them many, many years ago on the Fironia Vie server.  Back then I played a Dark Elf named Cronadan, the first of his kind (on the server, that is, back before Sony took away all of the rules that distinguished Fironia Vie from all the other servers...) who broke away from Neriak, and became neutral in alignment.  I was a member of Twilight Bastion, and a dear friend to Kimaya and Kenyon, the founders of Twilight Bastion.

Seeing your protraits, and discovering that the RP spirit of Fironia Vie in its prime filles me with a sense of hope.  Like most of you, I've hopped from game to game searching for that "spark," something to keep me interested in a game over the long term.  After many years of trying to RP in different MMORPG's, and a few stints as guild leader, I still haven't been able to capture the magic of the Fironia Vie server.  Nowadays I just look for good old-fashioned RP fun, and a community that is tolerant of old RP dinosaurs like me.  ;)

I recently started playing AoC, and I have to say that I'm enjoying it so far.  I've been searching for the right RP guild, and yours immediately came to mind.  Do any of you still play AoC on a regular basis?  I'll admit that I've considered going back to EQ2, but I haven't played it in so long that it will be like playing an entirely new game!   Any advice?

Greetings!  Before you start trying to guess who I am, let me just say that I was not a Saga member when the characters you are familiar with were playing.  I played EQ, but was a member of League of Honor there.  Still, I have been a member of Saga for a bit now and am glad to say that we do indeed, live on.

As for AoC, there are a few Saga-ites playing there still.  I have moved to EQ2 and don't know how active we are there now, so perhaps Lyrima or someone playing AoC can speak to that.

As for EQ2, Saga there is picking up a bit of steam after a small group of us left AoC and Vanguard and returned to Norrath.  I am having a ball in EQ2 now and wondering why I left in the first place.  The game runs so smoothly and there is so much to do.  I have my quibbles and quarrels with it, but am very happy to be back.

Wherever you wind up spending your play time, I hope that you will find your way to Saga!

Ah!  The good ole days of FV.  I remember just about all of those names from the server community and the FV ezboards.  Although I joined the server when it launched back in late 2001, I wasn't a Saga member during those days either, not having joined up until the migration to EQ2, but there are still a few of the originals (going back as far as Starspun) wandering around here on the boards as well as in and out of various games.

I took a break from EQ2 for only about half a year, but truthfully, it has transformed in so many ways over the past 4 years that it really is like a new game in many respects.  I'm also a one time Vanguard'er, I suppose you could even consider me a reborn EQ2'er since I ran right back to Norrath after a few months of VG.  I'm not an AoC'er at all, though, so can't tell you what's happening over there these days.

Nevertheless, I wanted to pass along my "Howdy!" to a fellow former FV'er!   :wv

I'll admit that I've considered going back to EQ2, but I haven't played it in so long that it will be like playing an entirely new game!

Hi there!  Back in FV, I wasn't in Saga, I was a member of Sanctum Lux.  Then, after Sanctum Lux went through its flux, I left and joined the raiding guild Infinite Insanity (*gasps* yes, I know I know...but I really wanted to go to the depths of the planes and finish the Enchanter epic quest!)

In any case, I'm one of those recent returnees to EQ2, after staying away for nearly two years.  Yes, the game feels like an entirely new game, in a good way!  There's still a familiarity but at the same time there's just so much newness and more to explore.  My character is currently in awe at the beauty of the Faydwer continent and I can't wait to level up so I can check out the new areas geared toward higher levels (like New Tunare, formerly known as Felwithe).  I want to get old enough so I can go into Lesser Faydark and KILL Equestrielle...you know, if she's still around.  Is she still around?   :o

All in all, I'm really happy to be back in EQ2.  My playing time is limited but I look forward to it and there's always something to do.  Oh, and something I've found useful and amusing, if you've been gone long enough, you actually get experience for "re-discovering" areas again, even if you've been there a zillion times before!

Good times.  :bm3

Welcome!

Though I don't think I had much interaction with you, my time with Saga goes all the way back to those days.  I used to beat up Shintou for stealing Sarhea away from me.

I'm currently re-exploring EQ2 when I have time.  Come look us up!

Yes she is!  And I actually got to help kill her once too (she's an Epic x2)!  :bounce:

This actually happened a couple of times across the board for everyone.  Something related to resetting discovery experience for the achievements system if I recall.  I'm still running into places I haven't been in a while that I'm getting credit for rediscovering!

Lyrima

Welcome home, Cronadan!

We do have a very small, light, barely there presence in AoC.  I'd've gone back to EQ2 but my beloved and gaming partner will not budge from AoC.  It meets our needs for some distraction, but I miss the RP in EQ2.

I expect at some point, I don't know when or how soon, we'll head over to EQ2 as well.

Even so, if you'd like to join the AoC saga branch, just let me know.  I think you'll find more of what you seek in EQ2 however.

Cronadan

Thanks for the welcome, guys.  :)

Ah the immortal Shintou...  Cronadan and Shintou also had quite a history.  Cron had been waiting for the right time to fight Shintou one-on-one ever since Shin decided it was worth his time to pick a fight everytime the two were in the same vicinity.  Unfortunately, they never had a chance to fight because I decided to kill off Cronadan just before I founded a new guild with another character.

I'm actually in the middle of a move, and will probably stick with AoC for another week or so.  I like the game, but aside from the "fatality" animation, it's just not grabbing me.  I have found RP, but it's been limited at best.  I'm not looking for the same experiences I had back on FV in its prime, but... you know...  :-\

I'll probably renew my EQ2 subscription once I get settled in my new place.  Now I have to decide on a character!  I've messed around with a few back when I played before, but my time was brief.  I want a fresh start!  Quick question:  what server/servers do you guys play on?  I've played on both Antonia and Lucan, and even tried out the RP-PvP servers as well.  When I do start playing I would like to go where I know I can find one or more of you guys.  To be honest, running around interacting with a bunch of "bunny hoppers" is not my idea of fun.  That's pretty much what I've been doing for the past few months, in a couple of different MMORPG's.  I want to hookup with roleplayers, darn it!  :tan:

Antonia Bayle Server!

I personally hope to see you there; the more the merrier! ((I usually play weekends and with a new schedule will be playing mon, wed, fri in the evening after 5pm pst. Sometimes I hop on late on Tues, thurs but usually don't last long.))

So far there has been someone on regardless of when I logged in except the early early weekday mornings and late at night.

You will have to pick a Qeynos allied or based character.  We do not accept "evil" classes such as necromancer, etc.  Otherwise, the field is open!  There are a multitude of races, from elves and humans to kerrans (cat people) and fae (fairies).  You can even start as an evil race such as dark elf, ratongan, or iksar and betray evil to fight for the good.  We look forward to welcoming you into the guild when you arrive!

I don't get much time to play these days and I'm no longer a member of Saga, a fair number of us moved to Vagabond Knights when Saga pretty much died out for a time.  However I log in when I can!  The server's pretty active for RP, just this week finished up a week-long "Festival of Discord" which was a lot of fun.  There's a lot of great RP guilds around, both good and evil, depending on what you're looking for.  With EQ2's newest expansion coming up in November there's sure to be a lot of people around in the next couple of months, too.   :)

Cronadan

Didi!  It's great to hear from you!  I am really looking forward to getting back into Norrath.  I've hopped around from game to game so much that I've found a greater appreciation of Norrath's lore.  I did spend about two years playing WoW, but again, I found myself missing Norrath more and more as time went on.

I have a few ideas for characters, but it seems I've been bitten by the "altitis" bug...  EQ2 gives players WAY more variety when it comes to character creation.  I just may have to play a few different characters!   :viking2:

Hi there friend, I'm pretty sure we both had a couple of discussion on the FV EZ Board and saw each other in game back in the days. I just can't pin point the occasions :)

But I sure remember the Twilight Bastion fine people.

Glad to see the good old fashion RP sticks around !

Hi Cronadan! Long time no see   ;)

Cronadan

Deneteth... the name does sound familliar, but it's been so long... In any case, thank you for the welcome.  Of course I could never forget Ankles! *waves*  It HAS been a long time.  Hearing from you guys brings back so many memories.

I created a character a few nights ago, a concept I've carried over from Lord of the Rings Online.  If it's ok with you guys, can I post a little intro story for him?  He's unlike anything else I've ever played.  I just hope he "entertains" others as much as he entertains the guy behind the character. :2funny:

Anaris

YES!  Yay!!   :bdg

Of course, I'm only speaking for myself, and my chars...technically that would make five of us!
