Vorenn

What guild are you?  I have none...I was in with a guild called Maiden's Fancy fer all of three days, but I dinnae sing, dinnae dance, and dinnae flirt or more with anythin' wot moves....so off I went.

Please write an introduction to your character, including name, race, gender, class, alignment, god(if any). If you tradeskill or have other talents, please include those as well.

Name:  Vorenn Frostrime
Race:  Halasian
Gender: Male
Class: Fury
Alignment: Exile (will have Kelethin at the end of it)
God:  n/a

Tradeskills:  None at present.

Do you have alternate characters (horde or alliance/freeport or qeynos) on same server?  I have a assassin in Neriak as I still love my dark elves, so running that one.

What Roleplay games have you participated in?  I've played EQ Classic (pre PoP - BOOKINTHEFACE!), EQ2 when it first came out in Ira Dei, WoW, City of Heroes/Villains, Vanguard, ...actually I'm rather stunned now, quite a few.

-----------------------------------------------

Please answer the following three questions, IN CHARACTER:

Tell us of your past.

There's folks wot have brave deeds ta tell of love betrayed an' death overcome, o' fightin' dragons an' vanquishin' heroic foes and lovin' and losin'.

....I ain't got any o'that.  I'm just a simple fella.   Refugee o' Qeynos, I had a few....troubles...nothin' big, unnerstand, but my people ain't the most understandin' when it comes ta differences ta tradition.  Anyhow, I wanted ta see m'homeland and since I heard there were an expedition ta Halas, I was onna th'first ta sign up.

Ain't never been on th'sea in m'life, ya understand...so I didn't know wha' pirates were.   But th'Blacksails were on us mighty quick, and though we fought hard, we din't fight hard enough.  I were just a lad, mind, but strong enough - still, not so experienced an' so I ended up spending a fair bit of time - it mighta been years, I dunno - chained to an oar and bein' lashed for m'pains.   Mebbe that's where th'rage comes from...the fury thing th'druids talk about, but I'm still learnin'.

Th'one thing about that kinda work is you get strong mighty quick, an' I kept m'self at it, even offerin' to raid to be able to stretch m'legs and see light - I ain't proud of't, but I did what I had ta to survive.   Eventually, time came where I could make m'way off the ship, bein' strong enough an' ragin' enough to call the ice right outta thin air - and if ye were to ask me how, I couldnae answer ye.  Just...did...and afore I know it, the captain lay dead an I'm trying to steer th'ship with th'crew right to shore for all us ta make a break for it.

We beached off Timorous Deep- and a right hot, muggy place that was!  I slogged through swamp an' jungle fer months, livin' off whatever I could catch, an' made my ta Gorowyn.  Th'sarnak were fair ta me, but I knew th'place weren't home, and after getting ta Freeport I started makin' enquiries.   I'll be thinkin' I will make a break ta Kelethin provided I don't get killed tryin'.

What hobbies and directives do you presently have?  Well, t'be fair, any hobbies I had were mostly taken up with tryin' to keep from gettin' skinned or beat up by th'other snipes.   I'm tryin' ta learn what this whole "fury" thing be about, and if ye must know, I used ta study with th'monks an' high elves so as I can be more graceful than I be now; big bugger that I am, I don't wanna go round breakin' stuff.

I wanna see Halas, if I can...that were m'original plan, an' I'm still stayin with it.

Where do you see yourself in the future?Alive?  *chuckles*  I admit that I can't rightly say...I s'pose most folks will say settle an' get a family - but that ain't gonna happen for me.  I'll settle for growin' old and still being here ta tell the tale.  Anythin' else will, I hope, be a welcome surprise.

Anaris

A voluptuous Koada'Dal redhead curiously peers up from her fashion magazine and sizes up the newcomer

Greetings Halasian!  I am Lady Anaris Aldaron, also of the House of Astyrhim.  And I am also Saga's Premier Illusionist! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! A pleasure to make your acquaintance, I hope... Do have a seat somewhere.  Surely one of the barmaids will serve you.

snaps her fingers at the nearest person around (paying no mind who it could be) and demands that they serve the Halasian

***

At a table very far from Anaris, a tiny cinammon-skinned Ayr'Dal rolls her eyes, then stands up and approaches the Halasian

Welcome to the Saga tavern! I'm Nixabella Swanfeather but friends call me Bella.  Please make yourself at home.  Anything in particular you'd like to drink?  We do have some fine ale.

The little half elf smiles at the Halasian, then leans in to whisper:

Ya might want to steer clear of that redheaded Dal.  She's....well, she's trouble. *grins and winks*

Zerzal Nephardyuel

"Welcome, Halasian!
I hope you will feel well in our ranks!"
Zerzal says while slapping Anaris against the back of her head.

Then whispers to the arrogant Koada'Dal
"I am not your wench... nobody here is. Don't treat people like that. If anyone here would be lowly enough to be a mere servant, it's you"

"Well... Vorenn, was it?
I must appologize but I have a hard time understanding your words. Anyway! Head over to the bar <Points to the bar> and get yourself some drink! I'm paying!"

Vorenn

Vorenn looks somewhat startled at all the ...feminine attention...blushing crimson under his tan right to his hairline.  "Women?  Trouble?  I've learned that early on, Missus, an' no mistake.  But I'll be thankful for th'first pint, and let's hope it's a big one.  I'm still recovering from th'beating those Freeport Guards gave me afore the exiles found me."

Lyrima

*pops up from behind the bar*

Ya want a pint..lemme find ya a big one...

*scrounges behind the bar*

HERE we go!

*flings one of Stallago's finest*

*watches it fly through the air with a fond smile*

Vorenn

He catches more out of reflex than flair, though he moves a bit quicker than one would expect for someone so large.  "Oh there we go, tha's what I'm talkin' bout, and I thankee."  He removes a small scroll tied with a chain of everblooming flowers and waves it in the air with a smile.  "May as well celebrate since I got m'Kelethin citizenship, aye?   Now let's hope I don't brain m'stupid self on low-hanging ceilings."

Lyrima

I'll drink to that!

*pours herself a tiny glass of amber liquid*

*tosses it back*

*smacks lips*

Ahhhh!

Jezerai

A red-headed Halasian woman, small for the race but still large by anyone else's standards, enters from the back room.  Her hair is untidily bound up in a loose bun on the back of her head.  Her cheeks are pink with exertion and her blue woad stands out on her fair skin.  She stops upon sight of the visitor and slaps the dishtowel she is holding towards Anaris, unintentionally catching the high-elf in the face with the warm, soapy-wet cloth.

"Here, lass!  Make yerself useful and wash some dishes, aye?  No lazin' about, now!  Hop to!"

She holds out a heavily callused though finely shaped hand to the newcomer to be shook.

"Boudeccai Boru an' right pleased ta meet ye, sir!  Welcome ta Saga an' our tavern, ta be sure.  I see ye got an ale thea.  Sit yerself down an' tell me a bit o' yer travels."

Vorenn

He shakes her hand, not bothering to be gentle, the scars on his wrists glimpsed a moment before he pulls his hand back and nurses his pint.  "Adventures?  Me?  Bah, jus' survival, mebbe seemed scary at th'time but now is jus' not all tha' inneresting, to be true."

He takes a pull off his pint and grimaces slightly.  "As a matter o'fact I'm sorta hopin' some of th'fervour died down.  Las' time I was in Greystone Yard.  Some fellas in there decided to take a dislikin' ta me fer...well...fer reasons.  One grabbed ahold o' me an' th'other started workin' me over.

"Then long came two dwarves wantin' ta know what was goin' down, an' the one stops tenderisin' m'face ta say 'Min' yer own business, Stumpy'."  Vorenn winces.  "Ye can imagine how well that goes down...so th'dwarves charge 'im...then a barbarian or three spots tha' ...and then THEY come in th'fray."   He chuckles, though it's a bittersweet noise.  "There were nine o' us brawlin' by tha' time, an' some of th'womenfolk cluckin' and shakin' their heads like they does.  One even got a bucket o'water to try an' douse us with, but then we wasn't just angry, we was wet too."

He leans back in his chair with a small grin.  "Good times...I dinnae thing they've seen that sorta fightin' in there fer a while...I snuck off, patched myself up an' managed to get on th'boat th'next day."

He shrugs, looking a bit sheepish.  "See?  Normal, really."

Anaris

Anaris yelps softly as Bou's soapy, wet towel smacks across her face.  She peels it off slowly while grimacing.

BOU!!  My make-up!  You've....ugh!!!  GRRR!

She picks up her magazines in a huff and storms out of the tavern mumbling something to the effect that if Bou wasn't so strong she'd cast Aneurysm on her...

***

Bella watches Anaris depart and giggles softly, thinking "Good riddance!" to herself

Cheers to you, friend! Welcome once again!

She holds her oversized stein up, with two hands, and toast toward Vorenn

Zerzal Nephardyuel

#10
Seeing Anaris storming out in anger, Zerzal smiles and waves after her.
"Have a nice day!" she shouts after her.
Then she turns to Nixabella.
"This new coming Halasian seems though quite rough as nice a person as lady Boudeccai and lord Bahladar." Then she frowns. "If I only could understand them better when they anxiously try speak something that seems to be something like Common."
