haha well you've sold me at "few young rebels"...  Also, this sounds similar to the Ergo Proxy anime scheme as far as keeping it to 20- or 30-something episodes and calling it done.  There might just be something to that formula for me....maybe that's why my favorite shows are all over?  hah...  I think maybe I'll start watching tonight....

Yay!   :bdg

Le sigh indeed, applied to so many things, but...yes Firefly...  You and I both, my friend... You and I both...

Le sigh...

think most of mine have already been mentioned. Chuck, Stargate Universe, Smallville, Dr. Who, Rome, Sparticus, Tudors, V. Eureka and Warehouse 13 coming up next month on sci-fi. i actually started liking Sancturary though the first season took a bit to get into it.

not into comedies much. or "normal" dramas.

Alias i enjoyed when it was running. also Lost, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Dollhouse, even the Terminator TV show had its moments among the done/cancelled shows.

i usually end up only following maybe a half dozen shows a season tops.

Supernatural has been one of those shows i kinda wanted to get into but now am so hopelessly behind i don;t even try to watch it now. maybe i'll netflik it one day but not sure.

So I've seen the first three Avatar: Last Airbender episodes and I like it!  The show's adorable!  It's definitely more of a kids' show than adult anime but it's cute!  I think I'll keep watching it, I'm endeared with Ang now. And the pet monkey-bunny thingie.  8(

When I was searching for it I found that the live-action movie to be released later this year was directed by M. Knight Shyamalan.   The cast is a bunch of kids I've never heard of, save for Jackson Rathborne of Twilight fame and Dev Patel (the slumdog millionaire).  And um...Aasif Mandvi from the Daily Show...go figure...heh.

Looks like the movie might be fun too, based on the trailer...

I cannot believe i missed this thread for so long!

Ok, none of these may appeal, but I'll toss them out, just in case :)  I watch a LOT while working out and/or flying out to Blaek:

Rome - both seasons were outstanding.  A must try. Must.

LOST - Adored this.  5 seasons out now, 6 on its way.  Or maybe it is the 7th that is last (this season) In any case LOVE it.  I'll probably watch the entire thing again once I get through the last season.

The Office
- I enjoy the humor.  I was trying to go sequentially but not all Office episodes are created equal.  Some true brilliance here, though.

The Good Wife
- Really enjoying this.  Smart show.

MAD MEN
! Holy cow. woman, WATCH it.  Faaaantastic.

I'll watch all the FoodNetwork competitions - the kids and I are addicted to the Next FoodNetwork Star and such.  The cake competitions get old, though.

Entourage - very well written, funny and fun

When I'm desperate, Sex in the City never fails to entertain me, even when I've seen the episode several times.  True classics for me.

Big Love
- I like it! I always get pulled back in

I just watched the first episode, second season of True Blood and I really didn't like it.  I didn't like the characters. /shrug

I just saw an episode of Moonlight.  I don't normally like cop shows, but the fact that it's a vampire P.I. makes the cop thing okay...  And the verdict is....

I am IN LOVE with Mick.  Madly in love!  He's my new favorite.  I have no idea who the actor is, never seen him before.  But he's won me over.   He's handsome in that unexpected sort of way.  And the brooding, the angst,  he's very endearing.

I've a long night and day ahead of me so I'll get to see the rest of the episodes.

Thanks again!

Moonlight for me was kind of ehh. I normally enjoy vampire shows/movies and such , I played in a Vampire the Masquerade LARP for 7-8 years. True Blood and Moonlight neither one really hold my attention though , might be the lack of lore/history behind the whole vampire myth with them though. They actually had a show based on the White Wolf vampires though I can't recall the name of it. That show had some interesting bits though they lost me when they were deviating from the White Wolf written stuff.

Most of my shows are down for the season , though I still watch Burn Notice and some of my anime ... speaking of which I need to go look for the new Bleach episode now ....

Corsair

Yeah, that old 90's TV show based on White Wolf's World of Darkness was not my cup either. I think this was it : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115232/

I really just like the lead vampire, Mick St. John, P.I.   I'm in Love!   :smitten:  8(

But so far it's entertaining!  I've seen episodes 3 and 6.  Will probably watch a few more tonight, not like I'll be getting any sleep...

And I think there was another show based on Vampire the Masquerade which I remember seeing and hating it, but I think the name was The Kindred or The Embraced or something...  I thought it was pretty bad, and the clans weren't fully represented.  The only thing I liked about the show was that it took place in San Fran, because San Fran has secretly more vampires than New Orleans.  It's true!  I know this!

/blush... Er...um.....oops?

But now that you mention IMDB...../IMDBs Moonlight guy....

His name is Alex O'Loughlin and he was in a recent movie with J.Lo which I must now watch.  Even if it's with J.Lo.  And he's not playing a vampire. 8(

Kindred the Embraced or something to that effect , the storyline for the show had alot of potential ... the way they did it just sucks. They need to start making good vampire shows/movies again. Would be great compared to all the sparkly vampire crap and the whiny "I wanna be human again" vampires. They should have just talked Anne Rice into letting them continue the Lestat movies ... and cut the Queen of the Damned movie out of the picture and remade it an actual good movie that actually followed the books (Since it was parts of The Vampire Lestat and parts of Queen of the Damned)

Anaris

Oh...Anne Rice...  She was my best friend through junior and high school...  You know, I love her vampire chronicles but I really REALLY love the Mayfair witches saga.  "The Witching Hour" and "Lasher" still my fave books by her.  I even casted the movie in my head!  I'd love to see Memnoch made into a movie too.  Although I think the Mayfair witch chronicles are long enough to be made into a series too.  The last book I read of the witches was "Merrick" which is was a hybrid that combined both the witches and the vampires (Lestat, Louis, etc working with Merrick), I can only assume the rest of the series included both worlds.

I would love to see some of the David Gemmell books made into movies. Skilgannon and Druss would both make awesome movie characters.

Orrernoeth

If we are talking about books that we would like see turned into a movie or series, my vote would be for Anne McCaffrey's Pern series.  Hehe, can't tell you how many times I have re-read those.
Lady Orrernoeth Pureheart
Mystic of 89 Wardings
Wife of Sir Ravenns Pureheart

Corsair

Yah, the original Pern stuff was great.

I would like to see a non sucky, well written TV series for the Dresden Files, and the Rachel Morgan novels of Kim Harrison. And like a bajillion other things....

I'd like to see Fate stay/night Unlimited Blade Works visual novel arc turned into a miniseries. I'm weird.  :idiot2:
Namae Nai, Wandering Troubadour, 60,000,000,000$$ reward!

Corsair

new shows i've started watching

Covert Affairs-  spy series sort of like Alias Lite, more humor and the agent is a newbie who finally won her first fight in episode 2 (after losing her first 2). she's no Sydney that's for sure but plays more of a smartass type than kickass.

Haven- FBI agent sent to investigate wierd doings in the town of Haven where she runs into a personal mystery as well and decides to hang around for a bit to investigate while all sorts of X-Files-ish stuff happens around her. best part- the people living there are all "well, that's just Haven for you."

don;t recall if i mentioned these two already

Warehouse 13 and Eureka- Warehouse is in season 2 now and eureka's gotta be around season 3 or 4 by now.
