Tinwin

Hello there!

Most of you probably don't know me, but i'm a (retired) first generation Saga member and i'm thinking of getting into EQ2. I've spent a few days playing the trial version and i sort of like it.
My character is the grandson of my EQ1 character, wich would make him "Sir Tinwin Silvertick III" :)
He is one of a handful gnomish monks and nuns of the Order of Silvertick (So no 'Sir' title) and like all descendants of Sir Silvertick keeper of the teachings of the holy duality-trinity Fizzlethorpe-Marr (Duality-Trinity because the two are three as Marr equals two siblings, wich simply means that Marr are two thirds of two wich equals 2-3/2=d2-t3, it's all perfectly logical as you can see).

The Silvertick monks and nuns had been drifting around in their floating cloister for years, when finally a ship stumbled upon it and 'rescued' them (They were perfectly happy in the cloister, wich had a big supply of fish and a tinkered grog-o-matic installed, but the rescue was the sign they had been waiting for, it was time to reestablish the lore of duality-trinity in the seven corners of Norrath and make sure it wasn't forgotten).
That's all i'm telling about Tinwin Silvertick III...or Brother Tin as he's called by his fellow nuns and monks of the Order of Silvertick.

I'd just like to know if anyone i know is still playing and what you think of EQ2 :)
Help me make up my mind of whether i should go for EQ2 or not hehe, i've had a terrible year and looking for a way to unwind now and then, i don't have my own internet connection yet (Got my computer at a friends place) so for now i'm a super-casual player (I might end up like Menemas used to be ;) j/k)

Hiya Tinwin!  The gnome-formerly-known-as-Cata here!

I can't say whether or not you'll find it your cup of tea, but I sure love it! Tons to do, tons to see, lots of different ways to play the game.  :)

Tinwin

Hi Ex-Cata V :)
I tried EQ recently and i couldn't stand what they've done to the game, and i was overwhelmed by all the skill windows etc so i gave up, but i like EQ2 so far, i just wish i could get off that starter island. :P It's a bit like choosing whether to swallow the red pill or not :)

I'm probably second or third generation Saga; unfortunately we don't know eachother.

If your above post is any indication of your story telling and character creation, I surely DO hope you find a home in EQ2, and if you should decide to join another guild, I hope you keep your ties to here nice and strong.

Not only do I want to know more about Brother Tin, he sounds like someone I could be good friends with :kia

Welcome back !

Tinwin Silvertick I was one of the bravest knights of Saga in the days-before-EQ2. You picked a good time to return, Tinwin.. there are rumors that Faydwer has been rediscovered, and then maybe Ak'anon will be found!

It's good to have you back. I recommend EQ2 conditionally. Make sure you have a good computer system and video card first. Once you're sure you have that, it's all good. EQ2 is not much fun if it's all slow and laggy and boxy and ugly. It looks fantastic with the settings turned up, though. If you're playing the Trial of the Isle, then you should have an idea of how that goes.

The gameplay is fun and engaging and there's a lot to do and see, just like EQ1 used to be. Monk is a good class, 'Feign Death' is still useful as an 'oops!' button, though not to pull anymore. You still get 'Mend' and light armor and now there is all kinds of Karate flavored Gi's in the game.

Oh, and if you still want to play EQ1 from time to time, you can check out this link: http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/ It's probably a lot better than going back to the current SOE version of EQ1.

Tinwin!!
You are always welcome and there are many from the old Saga to adventure with.
Along with many new faces that have the spirit of Saga deep within them.
You'll come to love them.

If I don't kill them first.

Formerly, Kanina, Guildleader of Saga.
Now, XO, Herder of all cats that are Saga.

Greetin's Tinwin!  I be a Halasian Fury, young ta Saga and dinna know yer except through tha tales of yer gran'pappy.  I surely hope ye'll consider pokin' yer nose inta /join saga one of these days so I or one of me horde of little uns (alts) can sit and chat a spell.

((I have recently immigrated to EQ2 from EQ1.  I like it here better mainly because there are more people around here.  Also, as others have said, there are many different approaches to playing the game.  It seems like every time I load up the game, I have many options to choose from for how I want to play that day.  I hope to see you soon!))
EQ2: Boudeccai, Callysta, Dulcette, Mabb, Missa, Kudzoo, Negghia, Alanni
SWTOR: Jezerai, Callysta, Jujule, Myrriam, Catta, Temi'ana
TSW: Kud-zu, Teasel

Hennac

Hiyur Tinwin ! Heard tales of yur grandfather too.  I a halasian berserker, I kill stuff fur Saga and the Queen.  Be good tur see new face around, aye.

(I used to play Kerys in EQ1 and I certainly remember adventuring with Tinwin !  It *is* a very versatile game, EQ2, lots of things to do.  Hope to see you around !)

Bindi

TINWIN!!!

*pounce*

Missed you soooo much when you retired from EQ1!!! Due to having a baby and being very super busy, I've sorta kinda stopped playing EQ2, but I did enjoy it while I had time to play back in the day! They can't get rid of me though, so I just hang around to harass everyone on the boards. *nod*

Jump in the chat room and say hi!

Tinwin

Bindi, i got engaged, moved to Scotland and suddenly had 6 'babies' ranging from 2 to 22 years old, including a 5 year old autistic girl, to take care of hehe so i can relate to the business :) I'm single again though and back in Sweden again, starting over from scratch.

Hennac, Kerys was a Barbarian shaman in the Circle of sisters, wasn't she? Makes me miss Titasia *sniff*

I remember Cata V of course, always did keep track of the more illustrious gnomes even the suspicious ones (Cata V was named after Meldrath's creation Red V, wasn't she?) makees me wonder if tinkerfest is celebrated in EQ2 hehe.

Namae, my computer can hold its own so far even though it's not high end anymore. The trial island runs fine though it seems EQ2 has a memory leak and slows things down after a few hours of play.
I had planned since before i quit EQ to make Tinwin's descendant a swashbuckler since Tinwin had started out as a sailor/rogue (NOT pirate ;) ), the option for gnomes to be monks surprised me, but it was perfect for me as it would make the natural advancment for a ninja-like-rogue-who-became-a-holy-paladin.
Tinwin II was trained and taught by his father, but instead of recieving a call of paladinhood, he recieved a vision of what was to come and founded the monk order dedicated to preserving the lore of his father's virtues.

Xo, exactly what is a herder of cats? are you a kerran priest? :)

Lyrima, i'm usually very bad at telling stories outside of the game, but i'm also very bad at making myself short once i've started talking about something hehe. Character biography is a big part of the fun for me though. Even if i don't write things down, i have everything in my head and try to make my character true to itself in-game.

Tiny Tin!!

I loved EQ2, but my computer woosed out and wouldn't let me play it.  So, I'm passing the time as the GL of our WoW guild, Sequel, until I can purchase a new one and return to Norrath.  Though I can't leave them till next April, unless they mutiny and elect a new GL to take my job.

Glad to have you back in one piece.

*hugs!*

Hi Tinwin!  It w0uld be wonderful if you came back to Norrath!  The world has changed, but I find it to be much more interesting than EQ1 ever was and the graphics.  Amazing.

These guys. This group. They are the "cats" I refer to.
We've redone the setup a bit, and I oversee all the guilds.
Caladril/Gathos/Flann is the guildleader of Saga in EQ2 on AB and Izzra/Elloise is the Guildleader of Sequel in WoW on Whatever server.

I play a Troll in WoW right now.

And I am senior officer of a guild with 58 active accounts (99 current members including alts) on the Lucan D'Lere server.   If you ever decide to try an alt on LDL, feel free to send Ethin a tell, but identify yourself OOC so I will be sure to be extra nice to you!

Sendiwen

*waves*  Ye nay know me but yer grandpappy knew me friend Sendiwen!  Sendiwen somehow got transported from the plane of time to the present with us!.  He also accidently was turned into a gnome so be careful talking about his gnomeness since he is very sensitive about it *chuckles*. I hope to see ye runnin around with us soon!

I dunno, I thought I heard Tuppen say "fudge" real meanly one day.

Tinwin! I was just thinking of you the other day. I was talking to Gneen about his great great grandpappy, and I couldnt help but think of Tinwin. I remember grouping with some younger (level wise) folks on the moon and you wandered by. I told them in group that you could tell us all about x subject, darned if I can even remember now what it was... something to do with gnome and elvish history, I think.... and to prove it, I asked you. And you did! They were wowing and I was chuckling. You always were GREAT with the lore!

By all means, drop on in. Antonia Bayle server is where Saga is right now. And yep, they made me guildleader. Which aint a big deal. It just means I get to tell other people to do stuff so I can play.

Flann/Caladril/Gathos/Kulrin/Terryl *gets tired* and a bunch more

Tinwin

Antonia Bayle is where Tinwin was created and i've just finished the EQ2 digital download (Phew) so i have a proper account now. Just have to sniff out all the quests on the Isle of Refuge before i go to Qeynos. Lore remains my favourite part of the game, but it will take some time getting into the EQ2 lore :)
