Football.....mmmmmm

Alright alright....it's football season.

The XO loves the Dolphins it seems, and no doubt thinks they will be all kicking arse this year...but the real question is...do we wanna try a second annual fantasy football league?

If so, I can set something up on ESPN.com, or someone else can set up somewhere else...we'd need I think 8-10 to do something. Could even try to plan a live draft so we could chatter and talk smack online while we drafted.

Anyhow...was kind of a kick last year...so if there is interest we could set this up!

Oh and for those who sadly I did not get to see again at the recent meet n' greet....maybe next time! Heck of a nice group all round...hope to do it again next year!

I'm really into deligating lately.
I'll be much more apt to participate if I don't have to do all the work as well.
JUst post the link here and we'll also make a link on the links page for the league once it gets set up.

Right. Here we go then...take a look at the Sage Football League...or SFL for short. I was tempted to name is The Scurvy Gnome Pirate Football League...but felt Saga name would be easier to find if searched for possible. Besides, SGPFL it a long acronym. If the masses prefer a name change, I'll see what I can do though.

I think I can add or reduce the number of players in the league also....as long as it's an even number I think we are cool.

Finally, I have not scheduled a draft date. These guys have a cool live draft feature where we could all chat and talk smack while drafting, which would seem like fun if we can pull that off? If anyone missed teh draft last minute, there is an ESPN player ranking list that will draft for you automatically, so no one would be put out in that case either. I think you can also customize that list ahead of draft day and save for your team, so if you know your plans changed and draft time was bad for you, you could still put in a little adjustment to the players rankings to improve your chance to get whatever players you like.

Okay...sent out a few initial invites as a test. And I see Finneas made it in even as I was working on that!

Lyrima, Dee, or others that want an invite but do not have a public e-mail addy attached to your profile here...well you can e-mail me. (I do have one in my proflile you can send to) Or you can just go ahead and create your ESPN account, and then try joining the Saga league. The league characteristics are...

1. Private league
2. Free league
3. I think you can search for the name Saga as well....
4. Draft type = live

DnD escapade eh? Fun! Will there be full reports...news at 11:00 and all that? I want in depth reporting!

As for bottom of the heap well...I recommend Todd Heap, tight end for the Baltimore Ravens...and a wide bottom it is indeed in Mr. Heap's case...

I will endeavor to post some tips and recommendations as I see 'em for folks who want to play too. Last year I think I helped a few folks pick up some good players as the year went on.

My early prediction? The XO will draft Daunte Culpepper, the Miami Dolphins QB, in round 3-4.
