Just wanted to remind everyone of the 4 moments of silence today, marking when the two planes crashed into the TT's and when they fell.

I'm watching the realtime replay of that day on CNN pipeline from cnn.com

chilling.

I found this quote for the FV board:

Today, we gather to be reassured that God hears the lamenting and bitter weeping of Mother America because so many of her children are no more. Let us now seek that assurance in prayer for the healing of our grief stricken hearts, for the souls and sacred memory of those who have been lost. Let us also pray for divine wisdom as our leaders consider the necessary actions for national security, wisdom of the grace of God that as we act, we not become the evil we deplore. -Rev. I'm watching it too, Beeker.  I missed most of the early coverage that day, and it's interesting to see their perspective at that time.

I found it interesting that the last story before breaking in with the news of the first hit was that stock for Boeing were expected to be down and Nokia was expected to rise.

I can't even think about 9/11.... I spent the most uncertain 12 hours of my life that day, and I wasn't even at WTC, I was just staying at the LAX Hilton...  But still, it was scary, especially since everyone kept talking about how the planes were all headed to LAX...  And then we got evacuated and the entire Los Angeles seemed paralyzed... I walked around like a zombie all day, wearing a gown and with an unwelcomed champagne buzz...  And my parents freaking out calling me every 3 minutes when they could get through....

And to think back to how much fun I was having right when the first plane struck...  You just never know...

I was ok all day, had the moment of silence with my students.  Then we passed folks outside my children's (Quaker) school, holding peace signs.  I honked, showing support.  The kids wanted to know why these folks were out, today.

I asked them what they already knew, wondering what had been said in school.

And found myself, tearing up, trying to explain what happened.

I had to watch the news for 6 hours today.
And I hated it.
I'm pretty upset and I just feel so helpless.
And I feel like we haven't made enough progress and most of our leaders have let us down.
The world needs all the prayers we can give it.
The opinions expressed here are my own and I have my wife's permission to say so.
